Shakib al Hasan completed his secondary education at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) and earned a BBA from American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). His parents are Khondoker Masroor Reza and Shirin Reza. He married Umme Ahmed Shishir in December 2012, with whom he has three children: Alayna Aubrey Hasan (2015), Errum Hasan (2020), and Eyzah Al Hasan (2021). Shakib became a US green card holder in August 2018. He is the chairman of Monarch Holdings, a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, and launched Burak Commodities Exchange Co in August 2021 to enter the gold business.
Since 2020, Shakib al Hasan has run a charity organization called the Shakib Al Hasan Foundation (SAHF). The foundation launched ‘Mission Save Bangladesh’ in March 2020 to assist 2,000 families. In April 2020, Shakib auctioned his 2019 Cricket World Cup bat to support COVID-19 relief efforts.
